Mission: We strive to offer services and opportunities to promote personal growth, independence, dignity and respect for the citizens of Southfield and Lathrup Village.

Eligibility: Assistance is available to residents of Southfield and Lathrup Village. Please call for an appointment.

Services: Southfield Human Services provides a number of programs and services all designed to meet the specialized needs of our residents. These include Southfield-Lathrup Counseling Services, Legal Aid, Social Work Outreach Services, Older Adult Services, Services for the Disabled, Southfield Career Center, and the Southfield Human Services Providers.

  • Effective March 2009, the Human Services Department has temporarily relocated to the Parks & Recreation Building (lower level with Emergency Management) at 26000 Evergreen Road at Civic Center Drive.
  • Southfield Community Foundation is sponsoring the 4th Annual Women's Fund Tea on April 25, 2010 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Plum Hollow Country Club. Tickets are $35 (proceeds to benefit victims of domestic violence) - for more information, contact (248) 327-6125.
  • Free tax prepartion for low-income Southfield individuals and families from Feb. 3 through April 7.
