The Southfield City Council unanimously approved authorizing the Building Department to waive building permit fees for homeowners affected by the recent heavy storms.

The application fee will still be applicable; however, all other building permit fees will be waived for Homeowner Permits only. Contractor requirements will be handled on a case-by-case basis applicable to the homeowner’s building permit. This program will expire 90 days from today on Monday, September 23, 2024.
