Welcome to Southfield!
Southfield’s recreational opportunities are as diverse as its population: from over 20 beautiful parks and nature preserves to world-class arts and entertainment programs and events — Southfield truly offers something for everyone! After a busy day playing one of the City's challenging golf courses or viewing the extensive public art installations, visit one of Southfield’s many great restaurants offering the best in Asian, Italian, African-American, Middle Eastern, Jewish and continental cuisine.
Many arts and cultural programs are offered through the City's Parks & Recreation Department and Southfield Public Library. Park West Gallery provides some of the finest exhibitions of art in Michigan, including displays by renowned artists, like Erte, Picasso, Miro, Dali and Rembrandt; and offers online auctions at its website, www.parkwestgallery.com.
The City also offers 50-plus miles of cycling, hiking and nature trails; sand volleyball and tennis courts; a historical museum; ice and sports arena; an outdoor swimming pool; two public golf courses; and over 770 acres of park land, including the new Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve. More information is available through the Parks & Recreation Department.
