City of Southfield to hold Job Fair January 23 -- POSTPONED!

Please be advised that the Job Fair scheduled for today (1/23/24) in the Southfield Pavilion will be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The city of Southfield Human Resources Department will hold a Job Fair on Tuesday, January 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road to fill current and upcoming vacancies at the City as well as several other participating businesses. 
 
The City is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the following open Career Full Time positions:

  • Dispatchers
  • Firefighters
  • Police Officers
  • Maintenance Workers
  • Building Service Workers
  • Building Trades Technicians
  • Building Inspector
  • 911 Dispatcher
  • Talent Development Specialists
  • Urban Forestry Worker

The City of Southfield is also currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the following open Non-Career – Seasonal/Part Time positions:

  • Public Works (seasonal)
  • Parks and Recreation (seasonal)
  • Clerical/Administrative support (part time non-career)
  • Library Aides (part time non-career)
  • Crossing Guards (Seasonal)
  • Parking Enforcement Officer (part time non-career)
  • TOSS Bus Driver (part time non-career)
  • Code Assistant (part time non-career)
  • Special Projects Coordinator

In addition, a number of local businesses will also be onsite recruiting including Corewell Health, Guardian Alarm, Rudy’s Corporate Dining, Continuum Services, Oakland County Government, Secura Tech, American House, Labor Rocket, Jax Car Wash, and Community Choice Credit Union. 
 
The Job Fair is open to anyone 18 years and older with no reservations required. Check in at the Human Resources information table for a chance to win a prize. All of the positions currently open are posted on the City’s government jobs website.
