Residents reminded to put out branches only to expedite pickup

The Southfield Department of Public Works will hold a Special Branch Collection citywide the week of February 19-24, 2024. This is a special one-week opportunity for branch cleanup prior to the regular Yard Waste Collection Program that begins on April 1, 2024. 

Residents are encouraged to get branches out to the curb as soon as possible for special pickup that may occur ahead of their regularly scheduled collection day. Residents are also reminded that all branches must still be placed with the cut ends towards the curb for pickup and other yard waste will not be accepted! 

The following additional guidelines must also be adhered to:

• No contractor piles will be accepted;
• No entire private tree removals (must obtain your own contractor!);
• No piles stacked higher than 30” and 8’ lengths; and
• No logs mixed in with piles.
