City of Southfield partners with Rebuilding Together Oakland County to help homeowners in need
April 25, 2017
The Rebuilding Together National Work Day event helps low-income seniors, military families and others in need by providing free home repairs and maintenance for those who cannot afford or physically complete the work themselves. Past renovations have included replacing windows, removing trip hazards, installing grab bars in bathrooms, making bathroom modifications for the disabled, upgrading kitchens, painting, yard clean up and landscaping. Rebuilding Together Oakland County provides these services to low-income homeowners throughout Oakland County. To qualify, low-income applicants must own their home and be current on mortgage payments and taxes. Areas served include Huron Valley, Pontiac, Oak Park, Royal Oak Township, Southfield, Farmington Hills and the “Lakes Area” of western Oakland County.
Rebuilding Together Oakland County will continue its rebuilding efforts in Southfield beyond National Work Day with additional projects slated for May 6 and June 16.
Since 1994, Rebuilding Together has provided more than $6 million in services and helped more than 1,000 homeowners throughout Oakland County.
