Early Voting Available this August & November in Southfield!

Early Voting will be available from July 27, 2024 - August 4, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in Park & Recreation Room 115. Early voting will also be available for all Southfield precincts at Oakland County’s regional site: Waterford Oaks Activity Center, 2800 Watkins Lake Road, Waterford, MI.

The Southfield City Clerk's is hiring Election Worker's for the 2024 election cycle! Eligible individuals are encouraged to fill out an application online and return the form by email to cityclerk@cityofsouthfield.com or by mail to Southfield City Clerk, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan 48076.

Please Note: If you are on the Permanent Absentee List, you you will receive an Absent Voter Application for each election cycle. This Application must be signed and returned to the City Clerk's Office in order to receive an Absentee Ballot.


Voter Details

Precinct Location Changes

  • Temporary Precinct Location Change: Voters for precincts 11 and 12 (Adler) will vote at City Hall for the Presidential Primary February 27, 2024, August 6, 2024 Primary Election and the November 5, 2024 General Election due to construction at the school.
  • Temporary Precinct Location Change: Voters for precincts 25 & 26 (Stevenson School ) will vote at Birney Middle School at 27225 Evergreen Road for the Presidential Primary February 27, 2024, August 6, 2024 Primary Election and the November 5, 2024 General Election due to construction at the school.
  • Permanent Precinct Location Change: Voters for precincts 13 and 14 (Beth Yehudah) will vote at Thompson School-16300 Lincoln

Absent Voter Ballot

The State of Michigan is now a NO-reason absentee vote state, meaning residents can cast an absentee ballot without giving a reason.

Absent Voter Applications

To request an Application for Absent Voters Ballot, visit the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 26000 Evergreen Road; contact the City Clerk's Office at (248) 796-5150, or download a copy of the application for Absent Voter Ballot Form. Please be sure to sign and print your full name and address on the application form.

The City Clerk's Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Saturday prior to Election Day to accept and process Absent Voter Ballot Applications.

      Absentee Ballots issued on the Monday prior to the Election must be voted on-site by 4 p.m.; they cannot leave the Municipal Building per State Election Law. All Absent Voter Ballots must be returned to the City Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on Election night in order to be counted.
