Kimmie Horne to donate Jazz Festival proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities

Internationally renowned vocalist Kimmie Horne will present the proceeds from the 3rd annual Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival on Tuesday, September 18 at 1 p.m. to Ronald McDonald House Charities, located at 4707 St. Antoine, Suite 200 in Detroit.

 

 

Kimmie Horne will provide Ronald McDonald House Charities with a check for $5,000 from the proceeds from the 3rd Annual Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival. The festival, presented by Varsity Lincoln, was held on Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11 on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus. The two-day event featured live music by national and international performers, a lifetime achievement award presentation to renown jazz artist Ursula Walker, food trucks, boutique vendors, a beer and wine tent and weekend attendance of more than 10,000 festival goers.

 

“Ronald McDonald House Charities is a cause that is near and dear to my heart,” stated Kimmie Horne. “I’ve spent a lot of time at the Ronald McDonald House and am always impressed by how caring the staff is. I’m honored to be able to contribute to an organization that provides support to families when they need it most.” 

 

Ronald McDonald House Charities was formed in Philadelphia in 1974. With guidance from the national McDonald’s Corporation, the doors of the Ronald McDonald House Detroit opened in November 1979, adjacent to the Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Michigan, becoming the 11 Ronald McDonald House nationally.
