The Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce will host Taste of Southfield on Tuesday, October 10 from 5-8 p.m. in the Southfield Town Center Atrium.

The Taste of Southfield is one of the city’s premier annual events and will feature a sampling of local restaurants and banquet facilities, including: Applebee’s, Beans & Cornbread, Cake Crumbs, Fire Iron Grill – Marriott, Nikola’s, Nomad Grill, Olga’s, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Plaza Deli, Sam’s Club Southfield, Skyline Club, Sweet Magnolia’s, Tango’s and Tropical Smoothie. The event will also include music and dancing, shopping with local vendors and the best restaurant contest.

For the second year the event will feature an Edible Creations Competition. The competition, modeled after popular Food Network show, “Chopped,” challenges contestants to create a dish using an assigned ingredient. Sweet Magnolia’s won the 2016 Edible Creation Competition using the featured ingredient of pumpkin to create the winning Grilled Apple Smoked Turkey Sandwich.

Tickets can be purchased www.southfieldchamber.com/taste-of-southfield and are $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members in advance or $30 at the door. A portion of proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.
