Southfield businesses join together to participate in 3rd annual CommUNITY Cup Corporate Challenge

Twenty-one companies take part in friendly competition and beautification project
The city of Southfield partnered with 20 Southfield-based businesses to sponsor the 3rd annual CommUNITY Cup Corporate Challenge. The five-week challenge will continue on August 15 from 4-6 p.m. with the Bedford Woods Park Mural Painting/Cleanup beautification project located at 29850 N. Bedford Street.
Representatives from each team will work to together to paint a mural on the wall in the parking lot in addition to spreading mulch in the play lot and cleaning up litter throughout the park. Staff from the City’s Code Enforcement Department and volunteers from Comau and Denso previously cleaned and painted the wall in preparation for the mural.
The Southfield CommUNITY Cup Corporate challenge was designed to connect local businesses, while having fun and creating a sense of community. The CommUNITY Cup kicked off on July 11 with a trivia quiz bowl. Events were held on select Thursdays over the summer and included an Amazing Race around Southfield and Goofy Golf Challenge designed to promote team-building, fitness and friendly competition. Teams consist of local Southfield businesses and community partners with the ultimate aim of beautifying Southfield’s Bedford Woods Park.
2019 participating companies include: Adient, AIREA, city of Southfield, COMAU, Credit Acceptance, DENSO, Doner Advertising, Epitec, Farbman, IHS Markit, Lawrence Technological University, Moncur, MSX International/GRI, Nexcess, P3-Group, REDICO, Robert Half, STTAS a UPS Company, The Mars Agency, Veoneer and XPO Logistics.
The Challenge will end on August 22 at Inglenook Park with a Kickball Tournament at 2:30 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. where the winners will be announced.
