The Southfield Department of Public will sponsor the “Name the Plow Truck” contest, for residents to participate in an engaging and creative opportunity to name the city’s snowplows.

Residents are encouraged to submit their own unique name ideas to https://forms.gle/EUrhHNJfgt6hdsEv6 by May 9, 2025. The selected names will serve as the inspiration for a collaborative project with students from Southfield A&T and Southfield University Academy, who will paint the snowplow to reflect the winning name. The winners will additionally receive commemorative plaques in recognition of their chosen names.

The contest is part of the City’s celebration of National Public Works Week which will take place May 12-17, 2025.
