Pebble Creek play area renovation ribbon cutting set for October 27

The city of Southfield will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Pebble Creek Park play area renovation on Friday, October 27 at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place at Pebble Creek located at 26355 American Drive just west of Franklin Road.
The former play equipment at Pebble Creek was over 20 years old and in need of replacement. The City successfully applied for a $100,000 matching grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. assisted in the design of the playlot and Rolar Property Services was the main contractor for the project. The playlot equipment was purchased from Playworld Play Equipment, a recognized leader in innovative commercial playground equipment. The new play structures meet all standards for access and safety, including a rubberized "mat" that completely surrounds the structure.
The ribbon cutting will feature remarks from several city officials including Mayor Kenson Siver, City Administrator Fred Zorn and Parks & Recreation Director Terry Fields. Light refreshments will be served and the event is open to the public.
