Where to get COVID-19 Vaccinations in Southfield

The COVID-19 Vaccine is: SAFE, EFFECTIVE and FREE!

Under current federal regulations, small and medium-sized cities are not permitted to administer vaccination programs directly. Oakland County is the responsible authority for administering vaccinations that are not otherwise authorized by the State of Michigan within the City of Southfield. While the City of Southfield remains an active partner with Oakland County and other healthcare providers, the City is not directly providing vaccinations.  

It is understandable that some people may be concerned about getting vaccinated with the new COVID-19 vaccines that are now available in the United States. While additional COVID-19 vaccines are being developed as quickly as possible, routine processes and procedures remain in place to ensure the safety of any vaccine that is authorized or approved for use. Safety remains a top priority, and there are many important, potentially life-saving reasons to get vaccinated.

No Internet access to register for a vaccine appointment? Call the Southfield COVID Vaccine Hotline at (248) 796-4529 for assistance 24/7. 

  • Please note: this service is for residents to schedule vaccination appointments for Ascension's Southfield Community Vaccine Clinic or for Oakland County's “Save Your Spot” vaccination appointments. Ascension Michigan and Oakland County are the responsible authorities for coordinating appointments and administering vaccinations. 

  • To participate, callers should leave their name and telephone number and staff will return calls as received to get more information to register residents for the first available vaccine appointment for which they are eligible. The hotline is open 24-hours; however, staff will return calls Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Major pharmacies including Meijer's, CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens have all announced they will also be offering the COVID-19 vaccine to those who qualify to receive it as soon as they have it available for administering. Additionally, many other healthcare providers, insurance carriers and non-profit organizations will be offering appointments for vaccination. Check their direct websites frequently for further information.

Healthcare Providers

Beaumont: Anyone age 12 or older can register for a vaccine is through myBeaumontChart. For patients age 12 - 17, the government has only approved the Pfizer vaccine. Beaumont will only be able to accommodate 12 and older patients at the Beaumont Service Center in Southfield or the Beaumont Hospital, Troy vaccine clinic.   • Beaumont "Save Your Shot" Vaccination Program: To register for the Beamont 'Save Your Shot' vaccine program, visit beaumont.org/savemyshot and fill out the form to add your name to the list. A free myBeaumontChart account is required.
  • Beaumont "Save Your Shot" Sign-up for ages 12-15: In anticipation of the FDA’s approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12-15 year old’s, Beaumont invites you to sign your child up through our Save My Shot program. Once they are able to schedule your child, they will send you an email invitation. A myBeaumontChart account with proxy access to your child’s records is required. You will also be able to call 800-592-4784 to schedule an appointment or bring your child to one of their walk in clinics once they are offering the vaccine to that age group. A myBeaumontChart is not required to call or walk-in.

Henry Ford West Bloomfield: Must be a patient of the Henry Ford Health System and have a MyChart account. Vaccine is available to anyone ages 12 or older. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive each dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Ensure the information listed in the MyChart account is up to date.

    McLaren Oakland: McLaren Health Care is pleased to partner with Walgreens to administer COVID-19 Vaccines to eligible Michigan residents as defined by the State of Michigan. Vaccination appointments are available on a limited basis, are valid only by appointment only, and walk-ins are not accepted.

    St. Joseph Mercy Oakland: Will begin offering vaccinations to individuals age 12 or older. Schedule your appointment online at https://bit.ly/35kKO9g

    Kroger Pharmacy: Schedule your vaccine at https://www.kroger.com/rx/covid-eligibility.

    Meijer Pharmacy: To register to reserve a vaccine: fill out the form https://clinic.meijer.com/; text EndCOVID to 75049 or call your local Meijer Pharmacy.
    When vaccines become available, individuals will be notified by phone or via text with an invite link showing available clinic dates and times. Vaccinations are available for ages 12+ for walk-ins or appointments. Ages 12-17 must have a guardian present. 

    • Meijer Walk-in Vaccines: Every Meijer store will have a minimum of 100 doses per week for customers to get the vaccine at their convenience. Doses will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Sam's Club: Now accepting walk-in vaccine appointments, as supply allows, in addition to pre-scheduled appointments. Customers who schedule an appointment in advance can complete pre-vaccination paperwork ahead of time, if interested. Appointments can be made at samsclub.com/covid
