The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to discuss the upcoming US-24 (Telegraph Road) project in the cities of Detroit and Southfield. MDOT will be rebuilding 1.4 miles of US-24 (Telegraph Road) between M-5 (Grand River Avenue) to north of M-102 (8 Mile Road). This rebuilding project will create a diverging diamond interchange at US-24 (Telegraph Road) and M-102 (8 Mile Road), which will improve efficiency and enhance safety. This project includes improving five bridges, drainage and watermain improvements, sidewalk ramp improvements that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), sign replacements, and traffic signal and lighting improvements. Work on this planned $54 million investment is anticipated to begin in spring 2023.
There will be exhibits displaying project locations, types of work, and detours. Interested parties will have the opportunity to learn details about the project. For additional comments or questions about this project, e-mail MDOT-Metro-TaylorTSC@Michigan.gov or call 313-375-2400.
