Southfield Parks and Garden Club to sponsor 16th annual Garden Walk June 18
June 14, 2023
The Southfield Parks and Garden Club (SP&GC) will sponsor the 16th annual Southfield Garden Walk on Sunday, June 18 from 2-5 p.m. featuring nine of the finest ponds and other garden water features throughout Southfield.
Nine backyard ponds and other garden water features will be showcased in four Southfield neighborhoods. A bus will shuttle participants from each location or a map will be provided for those who wish to travel by private car at their own pace. The bus will leave from the entrance of the Parks & Recreation building at 26000 Evergreen Road. Tickets for the Garden Walk are $10 and may be purchased on the day of the event or from the Southfield Mayor’s Office or members of the Parks & Garden Club.
The Southfield Parks & Garden Club began the annual garden walks to showcase some of Southfield’s most beautiful and unique residential gardens and garden art, to offer tips and ideas to attendees, provide information on annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees and to promote Southfield’s vast variety of housing stock.
The Southfield Parks and Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to keep Southfield beautiful. The club is a grass-roots, city-wide organization whose members assist with various curb appeal initiatives to beautify yards, neighborhoods, parks and other public spaces throughout Southfield. The club also operates a community farm at Emmanuel Lutheran Church that grows and harvests fresh, organic produce that is donated to Forgotten Harvest for those in need. All proceeds from the garden walk ticket sales will support the club’s charitable outreach efforts.
