Taste of Mardi Gras

Event will include parasol parade, beads and food samplings

The Southfield Public Library will host a special Jazz & Blues Concert featuring 'A Taste of Mardi Gras' with the Kerrytown Stompers on Wednesday, March 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Come celebrate Mardi Gras in Southfield with a sampling of the special robust flavors of New Orleans food and be a part of a fun Mardi Gras parade with parasol, beads and all!

Holding traditional New Orleans Jazz deep in their hearts, the Kerrytown Stompers have a deep passion for the early formation of jazz in all its aspects: history, culture, structure, improvisation and virtuosity.  They spend plenty of time in New Orleans and bring a stellar line-up: Kave Kosmyna on cornet, Rat Heitger on clarinet, Alex Belhaj on guitar, Chris Tabaczynski on bass and Pete Siers on drums and washboard.

Advanced tickets available for just $8 and can be purchased at https://events.getlocalhop.com/jazz-and-blues-at-your-library/event/HyqAojslma/. Limited cash tickets available at the door for $7 general admission or $5 for Friends of the Southfield Public Library members. No charge for children under 12.
