Project Eligibility for Allocation of American Recovery Fund Monies

Content

The Federal Government has identified Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (also known as American Recovery Funds) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The intent of fund allocation is to provide eligible governments with a substantial infusion of resources to meet pandemic response needs and rebuild a stronger, more equitable economy as the country recovers.

As a result, the City of Southfield has received $9.8 million from the Federal government. Various City departments have submitted projects to City Administration for consideration of funding eligibility. However, we are also seeking public input, the results of which will be utilized by City Administration during the fund allocation process.

You may access the survey HERE to provide feedback which will be available from Wednesday, September 1, 2021 through Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Additionally, both the Planning Commission and City Council will review the proposed projects submitted for funding eligibility.
