Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
The City of Southfield’s CDBG HUD Entitlement of $397,949 for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025 is allocated to the following activities:

- Administration: Costs for running the CDBG program. Expenditures include wages, supplies, legal notices, etc. Budget: $77,590.
- The Fair Housing Center of Metropolitan Detroit: Promoting equal and fair housing through the Fair Housing Center of Metropolitan Detroit. Budget: $2,000.
- HAVEN: Providing services related to the needs of those affected by domestic violence. Budget: $5,000.
- Lighthouse of Michigan: Providesservices to people experiencing homelessness. Budget: $1,500.
- Southfield Youth Assistance (SYA): Provides funds for scholarships for low/moderate income youth for skill0-building education and recreational programs, camps, etc. Budget: $20,000.
- Emergency Relief Fund (ERF): Provides interim care to low/moderate income residents to prevent evictions, utility shutoffs, food, medication. Budget: $33,193.
- Southfield Home Improvement Program (SHIP): Provides funds to low/moderate income homeowners for home repairs. Budget:$30,000. plus revolving loan funds.
- Chore Program: Provides assistance to low/moderate income seniors with funds for minor home repair. Budget: $193,666.
- Rebuilding Together: Assists low/moderate income families with home improvements using the help of volunteers. Budget: $35,000.
